We are a non-profit, diverse tutoring organization based in Studio City, Los Angeles. Founded by a team of high schoolers over 5 years ago, our goal is to provide an education to both students within and outside the San Fernando Valley area at an affordable price. For some, education means academics, and for others it leans towards something more physical. Jump Ahead not only allows us to share our passion for education, but allows us to share our profits to those in need, at our partner foundation - A Place Called Home. So far we have donated 3000 dollars to their foundation.
Our high achieving high school tutors meet up to twice a week. No matter the location, financial situation, or interests, we accommodate anyone who wants assistance, from elementary students all the way to our high school peers. Across every lesson, we keep our objective the same - to give our students the mindset that learning is enjoyable. Anything worth doing is going to be difficult, and many students, especially younger ones, aren't willing to embrace that yet. We hope that by connecting with our students on a personal basis, we can become a relatable friend, or mentor, who can show them the fun in learning, instead of being the removed tutor that is so common today.
We focus on both academics and athletics.
Most of us played sports growing up, and to us, athletics means bonding, hard work, and that competitive exhilaration. Our elite varsity tutors bring that to you, crafting fun games, scrimmages, but also drills to help our learners develop coordination and teamwork.
Academics on the other hand, means the joy of learning. To help create discipline, and mental stimulation in for this purpose, we also offer music programs, led by some of the most accomplished high school musicians in the valley. Academics aren't just numbers in a classroom, but rather a life skill that is both enjoyable to learn, and excel at. We hope to first make that love attainable, and then share it with our students, at an affordable price for whoever wants to learn.
